We are very lucky at both Ambleside and Lonsdale Quay to have some of the best farmers in B.C. attend the markets. All our farmers are hard working and dedicated to producing their crops with the most efficient and ethical methods possible. The produce is harvested and brought straight to market so there is nowhere that you can buy fresher product or fruit.

These families work very hard and are often in the fields by 5am, not finishing their day until 10 or 11pm at night. The farmers are very knowledgeable about what they grow and will be pleased to suggest new ways of cooking and preparing the produce. They will often have recipes to give you so please ask for them and for suggestions.

Our prepared food vendors come from all over the Lower Mainland and take great care in the preparation of their foods for your enjoyment. Everyone must pass a stringent inspection by the Vanouver Coastal Health Department -North Shore Region and we really appreciate the work and dedication of the inspectors who look after our markets. Jewelers, painters, card makers, stained glass artists, potters, ceramists, felted clothing, soap makers, wood workers, wrought iron artists, quilters and many more. These artists all have unique work that they bring and often many of these articles are only available at the markets.
