Hey Kids, and Big Kids! It’s that time of year again! Time for Artisan’s annual Zucchini Races taking place at Burnaby, Lonsdale and Ambleside Artisan Farmers’ Markets!
The Artisan Zucchini Races have been happening at Artisan Markets for many years. It’s all thanks to Mary Forstbauer’s Zeal for kid’s events at the market!
The race essentially involves taking a zucchini and decorating it in order to race it down a ramp for bragging rights.
Times for the Zucchini Races
- Burnaby Artisan Farmers’ Market, Saturday from 10:30am-1pm
- Lonsdale Artisan Farmers’ Market, Saturday from 11-1pm
- Ambleside Artisan Farmers’ Market Sunday from 11-1pm
Kids can come down to the Burnaby Market from 10:30am-1pm or while supplies last, the Lonsdale Market 11-1pm, and Ambleside Market Sunday from 11-1pm or while supplies last and build your racer! This is a free fun family activity.
Special Thanks to our Zucchini Suppliers!
There will be three different farms providing zucchinis:
- Forstbauer Farms for Ambleside
- Lea Lake Farms for Burnaby
- Natural Village Farm for Lonsdale
