Food Freshness Tip: How to check the freshness of eggs
Have you ever cracked an egg into a frying pan only to see that it’s rotten. But how would you have known. In the shell, all eggs are equal when it comes to the appearance of freshness.
Here’s some good news.
It’s Actually Easy to Check how Fresh Eggs Are
All you need is a bowl of water. Here how’s to do it:
Just fill a bowl with cold water and place your eggs in the bowl.
- If they sink to the bottom and lay flat on their sides, they’re very fresh.
- If they’re a few weeks old but still good to eat, they’ll stand on one end at the bottom of the bowl.
- If they float to the surface, they’re no longer fresh enough to eat.
